Dufour 44 from 2006:
With a Volvo Penta D2 55 HP with only 750 engine hours,
It is a "Cruiser Racer" type sailboat that can be handled solo, it's a very good performer both upwind and downwind (except for X Yachts and J, there aren't many that go faster), it is highly maneuverable, with a very light touch on the helm. The keel is made of lead unlike classic cruising sailboats and the keel-stepped mast makes it very stiff under sail and very responsive. It is a very seaworthy boat, very safe in rough weather, equipped with the necessary reinforcements and attachments for a furler.
The rigging was renewed in June 2021, 2 years ago:
- The genoa furler replaced with a new one: FACNOR LS200, identical to the original.
- The stay and 2 shrouds replaced.
- The LAZY BAG and the "Cristal" of the canopy 2023 new!
- The canopy and BIMINI were replaced in October 2017.
- The halyard was replaced in May 2016.
- The Sail Drive seal has not been replaced; it was checked by the shipyard which concluded that it did not need changing.
- Engine maintenance was performed by a professional mechanic (oil changes / oil filter / impeller replacement).
- The boat is equipped with a folding 3-blade J PROP propeller.
- The genoa is not very old, replaced about 4 years ago, it is a genoa from DELTA VOILES; the mainsail is a very robust sail with 2 reefs from ETTORE YACHTING, it deserves a wash but is in good condition and very performing.
- Only one owner of the boat, bought new and delivered on May 17, 2007.
